David Silva |
Silva, 34, spent a decade with City and made his final appearance in the quarter-finals of the Champions League as a substitute in Saturday's 3-1 loss at Lyon. He is scheduled to join his new team-mates from Sociedad for pre-season training in the coming days.
The 2020/21 La Liga campaign is expected to begin on September 12. Sociedad finished 6th in last season to qualify for the Europa League.
In his time in Manchester, Silva won 11 domestic trophies and is widely regarded as one of the finest imports of the Premier League.
City said a statue will be erected in his honor next year, while a pitch will also be named after him at the club's training ground.

Silva is the fourth-highest goalscorer in Spain’s history and sixth for all-time appearances and was part of the squads which won the 2010 World Cup and two European Championships, in 2008 and 2012. [AFP]
