Unilorin S.U Press Conference "The Nexus", A Program Aimed At Ironing Out Issues Related To Students Welfarism (Details And Photos)

 The University of Ilorin Students' Union held her press conference on Wednesday 7th July 2021 at the University Multipurpose Hall. The Press conference which was tagged "The Nexus" had in attendance students from other tertiary institutions across Kwara state, former student leaders as well as high profiled dignitaries in Attendance.

    THE NEXUS was designed to enlighten, inform and iron out emerging issues that are being related to to students welfarism, Security and academics. 

DaOptimistic correspondent, Saminu Aishat omotolani who was present at the event reported that different Heads of the University Units were in attendance and contributed their quota towards the individual enlightening speeches that were delivered. Part of which was enlightening the students on the need to visit the University guidance and counselling Units regularly, making effective use of the University's library as a place to learn, unlearn and relearn.

 The Students Union Public Relations Officer (PRO) Olabode Steven Opeyemi, welcomed all the Fresh and returning students back to the campus after a few weeks of vacation. He then rolled out various platforms for information dissemination from the Union across the individual Students' body to ease accessibility to Information.

The representative of the Fire Service Unit Mr Ibrahim Nagode was present as well and he demonstrated to the students how to prevent and curtail Fire incidents.

Furthermore, the intelligence officer from the security laid emphasis on the need for the students to be law abiding and security concious.

The Student Union President Taofeek Waliyu (Omoluabi) in his own part laid emphasis on the need for each Students to recognize and always take their academics study as the first priority and main aim of being on the campus as a student.

The Student union Vice President Badru addresses the student not to make attempt to commit suicide when their result is not good. She said the administration has planned to organize a departmental tutorial for each faculty to improve in our academic performers.
