Khaby Lame is a Senegalese TikToker who rose to fame during the Corona Virus lockdown last year. He was born in Senegal on 9 March 2000.
The Italian based content creator lost his factory job during the pandemic and is now a highly-paid social media superstar. He set up a TikTok account around March 2020 when Italy first went into lockdown, just to pass the time.
His early videos showed him dancing and watching video games, and were mostly filmed in Italian and included Italian subtitles. He rose to popularity with his video responses in the form of TikTok's "duet" and "stitch" features to videos depicting overly complicated "life hacks", in which he performs the same task more simply without saying anything.
In April 2021, he surpassed Gianluca Vacchi as the most-followed Italian TikToker, and in July 2021, he surpassed Addison Rae to become the second most-followed TikToker.
He now has over 110 million followers on TikTok, the second most followed person on the site behind Charli D’Amelio. He also has 45 million fans on Instagram.
He has been called the "Gen Z Mr. Bean" by fans. As of October 2021, six of the 17 most-liked videos on TikTok are his.
He has listed Will Smith, Eddie Murphy, and Checco Zalone as his inspiration. His social media is managed by Riggio Alessandro.
Given his rapid rise to internet fame, it has opened up a whole host of ways to earn money. Brands are eager to partner with popular influencers that have excellent fan engagement.
He charges brands $50,000 for a single promotional video on TikTok and is estimated to make $200,000 per month. The majority of his income comes from brand sponsorships and also runs an online store selling everything from t-shirts, juicers and magic candles!
His estimated networth is between $1.3million and $2.7million.
Lame is engaged to Zaira Nucci and publicly shared the news on Instagram in October 2020. Despite not speaking in videos, Lame is bilingual and speaks fluent English and Italian!
His story is a testimony and an inspiration to several people around the world who are at the verge of giving up.
From a sacked employee in 2020 to a millionaire and popular Tiktok content creator/second most followed Tiktoker in the world, in 2021.
