One of Friday's standout fixtures at the World Cup will see France and Norway battle for first place in Group I when they meet at Foxborough, just outside Boston. The match also brings together two of the tournament's leading scorers. Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappe and Manchester City striker Erling Haaland have each found the net four times, leaving them level in the Golden Boot standings and just one goal behind Lionel Messi, who currently tops the scoring chart with five goals.
France head into the contest with a slight advantage over their Scandinavian opponents. Thanks to a superior goal difference, Les Bleus require only a draw to finish at the top of Group I, while Norway must secure all three points to leapfrog the French side.

Competing at his first-ever World Cup, Haaland has quickly become one of the tournament's biggest attractions, combining his goalscoring exploits with an obvious enjoyment of the global competition.
Despite Norway's excellent form, the 25-year-old dismissed suggestions that his side would be favourites against France, admitting the reigning European giants remain the team to beat while expressing pride in Norway's remarkable run of 12 consecutive competitive victories.
"They're probably going to win against us, they're probably going to win the whole tournament,"
The striker also said he was immensely proud to be part of a Norwegian squad that has now recorded 12 straight competitive wins.
France have meanwhile had to cope with an unexpected setback in their preparations after head coach Didier Deschamps temporarily departed the team's camp following the death of his mother.
Assistant coach Guy Stephan has assumed responsibility for the team in Deschamps' absence and will remain in charge until the French manager rejoins the squad.
"I am thinking a lot about Didier and his family. I am just trying to make a difficult situation as normal as possible,"
Elsewhere on Friday's schedule, Spain will take on Uruguay in Guadalajara with top spot in Group H at stake, while Cape Verde hope to extend their impressive World Cup journey when they face Saudi Arabia.
Attention will also turn to Seattle, where Egypt and Iran are scheduled to meet in a Group G encounter that has generated controversy after organisers designated it as the city's "Pride Match," a decision that has drawn objections from officials representing both nations.
Belgium will also be aiming to book a place in the knockout stage when Kevin De Bruyne, Romelu Lukaku and their teammates take on New Zealand in another key fixture.
