The Royal Belgian Football Association (RBFA) has informed the United States Soccer Federation (USSF) that it intends to challenge the eligibility of Folarin Balogun if the striker is included on the matchday team sheet.
In a formal communication sent to U.S. Soccer, the Belgian federation stated:
"The RBFA has informed the United States Soccer Federation that it contests the eligibility of the player, should the player be listed on the referee's team sheet. This leaves all further actions open."
The statement indicates that Belgium reserves the right to pursue additional measures following the match should Balogun be selected, although the RBFA has not publicly disclosed the specific grounds for its objection
