Former Arsenal forward Ian Wright has identified only one country he believes has what it takes to prevent France from lifting the 2026 FIFA World Cup trophy.
France booked their place in the Round of 16 after an emphatic 3-0 victory over Sweden, with captain Kylian Mbappe delivering another standout performance by scoring twice in the encounter.
Mbappe has continued his impressive campaign at the tournament and now leads the race for the Golden Boot with six goals, while also contributing two assists for Les Bleus.
Didier Deschamps' side will now face Paraguay in the knockout stage as they continue their quest to reach a third consecutive FIFA World Cup final.
France were runners-up at the 2022 World Cup after suffering a penalty shootout defeat to Argentina, and Wright believes Lionel Messi's side remain the only team capable of denying the French another world title.
“It’s going to take something [to beat France],” Wright said.
“It’s going to take an Argentina because of the warrior nature of Argentina.”
