Rainbow Coalition Inaugurates 10,000-Member Tinubu Re-Election Campaign Team in Osun

Rainbow Coalition Inaugurates 10,000-Member Tinubu Re-Election Campaign Team in Osun

A political mobilisation group bringing together members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Accord Party and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has inaugurated a 10,000-member door-to-door campaign team in Osun State to canvass support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.

The inauguration, held at Nelson Mandela Freedom Park, Osogbo, on Saturday, attracted prominent political figures from different backgrounds, including APC chieftains, representatives of the Adeleke-led administration and members of the Niger Delta political bloc.

Operating under the banner of the Rainbow Coalition, the initiative seeks to build a broad-based support network for Tinubu through household visits, community engagement and grassroots mobilisation across Osun State.

Speaking at the event, the National Coordinator of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, Comrade Sunday Adekanbi, called on eligible voters to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and participate actively in the electoral process.

Adekanbi said the movement was targeting two million votes for Tinubu in Osun, urging supporters to put political differences aside and work collectively towards achieving the target.

Tompolo’s Representative Announces 30 Campaign Vehicles

A major highlight of the inauguration was the announcement of 30 campaign vehicles donated to strengthen the movement’s grassroots activities across the state.

The Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, Dr Kestin Pondi, who represented High Chief Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, said the vehicles were fitted with speakers, generators and amplifiers to support public campaigns and community mobilisation.

“We are not just coming to inaugurate, we are also bringing to you 30 campaign vehicles mounted with speakers and generators and amplifiers to make the campaign work very easily,” Pondi said.

He explained that the movement was established out of confidence in Tinubu’s reform agenda, which he described as necessary for Nigeria’s economic development.

Pondi also expressed optimism about the country’s economic direction, claiming that the economy had become more stable and that investors were showing renewed interest in Nigeria.

He said the movement was working towards securing at least 90 per cent of the votes cast in Osun State for Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.

Osun Chapter Promises Statewide Grassroots Campaign

The Osun State Coordinator of the movement, Adeolu Olanrewaju, assured the national leadership that the state chapter would take its mobilisation campaign to communities and households across the state.

He said the team would engage residents, community leaders and other stakeholders to build support for Tinubu’s second-term ambition.

Also addressing the gathering, the National Secretary of the APC, Senator Ajibola Basiru, highlighted what he described as key achievements of the Tinubu administration.

He cited the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), infrastructure development, increased allocations to state governments and improvements in the economy as some of the areas in which the administration had made progress.

Oyetola, Adeleke Representatives Attend Ceremony

The event also attracted the participation of former Osun State Governor and Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, who was represented by the APC governorship candidate in the 2026 Osun election, Bola Oyebamiji.

Governor Ademola Adeleke was represented by his deputy, Kola Adewusi. Other political leaders and representatives of the APC, Accord Party and PDP were also present.

Speaking through Oyebamiji, Oyetola described the inauguration as a demonstration of political organisation, commitment and a shared belief in Tinubu’s continuity agenda.

He commended Tompolo for supporting the initiative and his efforts to mobilise nationwide backing for the President’s re-election.

Oyetola said Tinubu’s campaign was gaining visibility across the South-West, adding that political leaders and supporters in the region had a responsibility to work towards delivering substantial votes for the President in 2027.

He expressed confidence that the APC’s target of 1.5 million votes for Tinubu in Osun was achievable if political leaders and grassroots supporters worked together with unity, discipline and determination.

The former governor also appealed to Nigerians, regardless of their political affiliations, to support the President’s second-term ambition.

He urged members of the canvassing team to carry out their assignments with sincerity and dedication, warning them against what he described as “hypocrisy, political pretence and complacency”.

Adeleke’s Deputy Calls for Unity Across Party Lines

In his remarks, Governor Adeleke’s representative, Deputy Governor Kola Adewusi, urged members of the Accord Party, PDP and the Governor’s supporters to put past political disagreements behind them and unite in support of Tinubu’s re-election.

His appeal reinforced the cross-party character of the gathering, which brought together political figures from different affiliations under a common campaign objective.

With the inauguration of the 10,000-member canvassing team and the announcement of 30 campaign vehicles, the Rainbow Coalition says it is preparing to expand its grassroots activities across Osun State ahead of the 2027 general election.

The movement’s organisers are counting on household engagement and cooperation among political stakeholders to build support for Tinubu’s second-term bid.
