Sowore Blasts Buhari For Endorsing Ize-Iyamu Despite N700m Fraud Case
Buhari Endorse Iyamu For Edo Governor
Controversial # RevolutionNow activist Omoyele Sowore has called for President Muhammadu Buhari 's endorsement of Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu who is currently facing N700 million corruption charges.

Ize-Iyamu was arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission before a Federal High Court in Benin for allegedly receiving some N700 m during the build-up to the 2015 general election.

The money was said to have emanated from Diezani Alison-Madueke, a former Petroleum Resources minister.

However, on Friday, the President endorsed Ize-Iyamu, who is the All Democratic Congress nominee for governorship.

Sowore, who is a former presidential candidate, reacted to the development by saying it was amusing that Buhari might feign ignorance of the corruption case of Ize-Iyamu.

Sowore, who is the publisher of Sahara Reporters, said that this was the same way in which Buhari appointed Godswill Akpabio as Minister of Niger Delta Affairs and supervisor of the Niger Delta Development Commission, despite being tested by the EFCC for allegedly diverting billions of naira as governor of Akwa Ibom State.

He tweeted, “The nature of dementia! Pastor Ize-Iyamu is undergoing trial for N700m scam,  Buhari pretends not to remember, hands him a flag to become next Edo governor, much like Senator Godswill Akpabio was asked to handle NDDC.”
