FG Working On Providing Affordable Learning Devices For Students |
The Federal Government has stated that it is working with state governments and some development partners to improve the education system in the country.
The plan that is part of the government's response to the COVID-19 pandemic's effects will make the education system more digitally accessible.
Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), Obafela Bank-Olemoh, the Senior Special Assistant on Education Initiatives to the President, said both the federal and state governments will provide more funding for the devices.
Bank-Olemoh claimed this at the master class on 'Education without borders and boundaries' at MTN Nigeria's The Revv Programme.
He said, “The reality has changed how we do education whether at the state or federal level.
“Whether we like it or not, we have to provide devices for our children. This is because if something like this happens the second time, we can’t make the excuse of not planning for it.”
He said the plan was not just to put devices in the hands of students but also to see how this could be done locally.
