FG Threatens Legal Action Against ASUU As Meeting Flops Again

FG Threatens Legal Action Against ASUU As Meeting Flops Again
ASUU

Owing to the protracted strike, the federal government has threatened to take legal proceedings against the Academic Staff Union of Universities.

It was gathered by DaOPtimistic that Chris Ngige, Minister of Labour and Employment, released the warning at the end of the approximately three-hour meeting in Abuja with the union leadership.

In their opening remarks, both parties shared, in their distinctive ways, the expectation of an end to industrial action.

But ASUU maintains, after more than two hours behind closed doors, that nothing new has been put on the table.

In an interview with newsmen, the minister said that the government could be forced to file a legal case to arrest the stalemate against the striking university teachers.
