Nuffic scholarship are available to attend our short courses at The Hague Academy. The Orange Knowledge Programme (OKP) and the MENA Scholarship Programme (MSP) offer scholarships for training courses in The Netherlands.
These scholarships seek to develop and strengthen the skills and abilities of professionals, in order to enable their organisations and communities to succeed in an ever-changing world.
The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs funds both of these programmes and Nuffic, a Dutch non-profit organisation, is the programme manager.

Scholarship Details
The Orange Knowledge Programme is a Dutch global development programme. The programme was kicked off mid-2017 for 5 years and involves 38 countries.
The objective of the Orange Knowledge Programme is to contribute to society’s sustainable and inclusive development by strengthening the skills and knowledge of both individuals, groups of individuals and organisations.
The key priorities for the programme are Food and nutrition security, Water, energy and climate, Sexual and reproductive health and rights, and Security and the rule of law. Cross-cutting themes relevant to all activities of the programme include Private Sector Development, Climate, and Gender and Inclusive Development (with specific attention to marginalised and discriminated groups).
Scholarship Requirements
For Orange Knowledge Programme Scholarships:
There is no age limit.
The candidate must be a national of, and working and living in, one of the following countries on the OKP country list.
The candidate must not be employed by an organisation that has its own means of staff development, for example: o multinational corporations (e.g. Shell, Unilever, Microsoft), o large national and/or large commercial organisations, o bilateral donor organisations (e.g. USAID, DFID, Danida, Sida, Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, FinAid, AusAid, ADC, SwissAid), o multilateral donor organisations, (e.g. a UN organisation, the World Bank, the IMF, Asian Development Bank, African Development Bank, IADB), o international NGO’s (e.g. Oxfam, Plan, Care);
The candidate must have a current Employer Statement according to the prescribed Nuffic Format. All the requested segments must be completed.
The Employer Statement must be scanned with the original signature AND stamp of the organisation, and preferably on official letterhead of the organisation.
If applicable, the candidate must have a government statement that meets the requirements of the country in which the employer is established.
The candidate must have a passport that is valid at least 4 months after the application deadline.
The candidate must not receive more than one scholarship for courses that take place at the same time;
The short courses are taught in English. Therefore, it is important that your English language skills (writing and speaking) are good. Pleases add you IELTS or other language proficiency scores if this is relevant.
Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience is required, working with of for local or regional authorities, Civil Society Organisations, Local or Regional NGO’s etc. It is to your advantage if the work/experience is related to the content of the training
Scholarship Duration and Reward
The Scholarships cover the
tuition fee,
return flights (from an international airport to Amsterdam),
insurance, and accommodation, in addition to a small Daily Subsistence Allowance. Follow the steps below to apply.

Government Statement (see COVID-19 information below): Some countries require applicants to provide a Government statement in support of their application. When required, prepare this in advance as this could take a few weeks. See the Overview Government statements (for OKP) or Overview Government statements (for MSP) for more information. Use one of the following prescribed formats: OKP Statement of Government Authority or MSP Scholarship Statement of Government Authority.
Employer Statement (see COVID-19 information below): All applications must be supported by an Employer Statement, and ONLY the prescribed Nuffic format will be accepted as a valid document. This motivation by your employer indicates the relevance of the training to you as an employee, and to the organization. The information in this document will be assessed by both The Hague Academy and the Embassy. The Employer Statement should be uploaded as 1 single PDF and should consist of the following segments:
Declaration by your employer (Permission to participate)
Data about the organization/candidate including the indications regarding relevance.
Plan of Activities (with clear goals and deadlines)
Please see the Example employer statement and prepare your document accordingly.
Copy passport: Your passport must still be valid for at least four months after the application deadline. Applications with passports that do not comply with this requirement will be discarded.

It is possible to save to continue at a later time. You will receive a login code to re-access your form.
Before submitting your application, do a final check. Once you have submitted your application, it will no longer be possible to make any adjustments.
Only applications with all the required documents, complete and in the correct formats will be considered as valid.
Once submitted, your application will be assessed on eligibility and relevance.
