Barcelona |
Barcelona has suffered a major double injury blow ahead of their La Liga clash with Granada on September 20.
The Catalan club confirmed this in a statement on Wednesday that their players, Pedri and Jordi Alba, will be on the sidelines after picking an injury.
Pedri suffered a thigh injury, while Alba sustained a hamstring injury.
This is coming after Barcelona lost 3-0 against Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Tuesday at Camp Nou.
“Pedri has a quadriceps muscle injury in his left thigh. The player is unavailable for selection and his recovery will dictate his return.
“Tests carried out on Wednesday morning on Jordi Alba have revealed that he has injured the biceps femoris muscle in his right hamstring. As a result, the player is unavailable for selection until he has recovered.
“The left-back had to be replaced in the 74th minute of the game against Bayern Munich at Camp Nou, making way for Alejandro Balde to make his official debut for the first team,” Barcelona’s statement partly read.
