UNILORIN SU OFFICIALS PAID A COURTESY VISIT TO THE KWARA STATE COMMISSIONER FOR WORKS

The Leadership of the Union paid an official Courtesy visit to the Honourable Commissioner for Works, Kwara State- Engr. Rotimi Iliasu. The delegation which was led by Comrade Adeleye Isaac appreciated the Commissioner for various infrastructural projects across the state and most especially student-dominated areas. Part of the notable projects was the repair of the University road from Tanke junction to the University of Ilorin Main gate.

Also at the meeting, some problems facing students living off-campus were raised and solutions were proffered. Part of the issues are inconsistent electricity supply in student suburb areas as well as the bad states of Oke-Odo and Oko Oba roads.

The Commissioner in his address, appreciated the presence of the student leaders and promised to intervene on the issues raised. According to him, construction of Oke Odo road is part of the plans of his administration and very soon, re-construction will begin. Also, Oko Oba road would be graded in order to make it motorable.

On the issue of electricity, the Commissioner promised to reach out to the IBEDC in order to map out feasible and prompt solutions that can be proffered to restore electricity in these places soonest.

He also assured the Union of consistent support, being an alumnus of the University.

Other members of the delegation are Comrade Ajayi Akinwale John, Comrade Adeyemo Abdulwasiu, Comrade Olabode Stephen, Comrade Afolayan Toyosi and Comrade Aina David.
