Antonio Conte has been named as the next head coach of Tottenham Hotspur.

This comes only 24 hours after Nuno Espirito Santo, who previously held the role, was fired.

The club's website stated, "We are thrilled to announce the hiring of Antonio Conte as our Head Coach on a deal until the summer of 2023, with an option to extend."

Conte had previously guided Inter Milan to its first Serie A triumph in the 2020/2021 season, interrupting Juventus' nine-year winning streak.

"I am incredibly glad to return to coaching, and to do so at a Premier League team with the goal to be a protagonist again," Conte stated after joining with the club.

"Tottenham Hotspur features cutting-edge infrastructure and one of the world's top stadiums.

"I'm excited to get started on instilling in the club and the fans the passion, mindset, and dedication that have always defined me as a player and a coach."

"Our union did not materialize last summer because the conclusion of my connection with Inter was still too fresh in my mind, and I was emotionally too engaged with the season's finale, so I didn't feel it was the proper moment to return to coaching."

"However, Daniel Levy's infectious energy and drive in entrusting me with this responsibility had already hit the target. Now that the chance has arisen, I have decided to seize it with zeal."

"We are happy to welcome Antonio to the Club," Tottenham's Managing Director - Football, Fabio Paratici, stated of the hiring. With extensive expertise and trophies in both Italy and England, his track record speaks for itself.

"Having worked with Antonio at Juventus, I am familiar with the attributes he can bring to us, and I am forward to watch his work with our outstanding group of players."
