Ike Ekweremadu, Wife Thought Money Can Cover Them – Victoria Inyama

Nollywood actress Victoria Inyama has commented on the Metropolitan Police's arrest of former Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu and his wife Beatrice in London.

Ekweremadu and his wife are being held by police on suspicion of conspiring to take a child's organs.

Victoria responded to the news in an Instagram post on Thursday by saying that the senator and his wife likely believed their wealth would take care of them. People in Nigeria, she continued, are unaware of what wealthy Nigerians do abroad.

She wrote: “It’s all over the news…On a tip-off, the Met police, as usual, calmed down and have been investigating….they probably thought money can cover them as usual in Nigeria…..Nigerians don’t even know half of what your rich adored folks get up to.”

Ekweremadu, 60, and Beatrice, 55, have been remanded in custody and will appear at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, June 23.

According to the force, the investigation was launched after detectives were alerted to potential offences under modern slavery legislation in May 2022.

The child has been taken into protective custody, reports Sky News.
