Peter Obi, the Labour Party's presidential candidate in the general elections of 2023, has criticized the increase in the cost of an international passport.
Obi claimed in a post on his official X Twitter on Thursday that this administration's fixation on burdening the people is turning into a legend.
According to the DAILY POST, the Federal Government raised the cost of international passports on Thursday.
The former governor of Anambra State responded by saying that the price of a single passport now surpasses a worker's monthly income in a nation where the new minimum wage is merely N70,000.
He claims that rather than making life easier, the government continues to place more and more of the load on regular Nigerians.
According to him, instead of making life easier, the government keeps shifting the burden onto ordinary Nigerians.
“It is alarming that the price of the international passport is higher than what workers earn in a month,” he wrote.
