Hilda Baci, a culinary influencer and holder of the Guinness World Record, has revealed intentions to use 250 bags of rice to make what may be the largest pot of jollof rice ever.
“I’ll need about 5,278 kg of raw basmati rice to hit that target,” she explained.
“While the math says that’s 264 bags, I’ve made the executive decision to go with 250 bags.”
She also revealed the scale of ingredients needed to bring the jollof to life, including 1,583 kg of tomato paste.
“For Nigerian jollof, I’ll use 0.30 kg of tomato paste per kg of rice, which brings the total to 1,583 kg,” Baci said.
Baci, who won the title of longest cooking marathon in 2023, revealed the ambitious goal on Monday in a video that was uploaded to Instagram. Her objective is to fill the enormous 22,619-liter pot that was specially designed for the achievement to 75–80% full.
To guarantee what she refers to as "the most delicious, largest pot of Nigerian jollof rice you've ever tasted," the base mix for the jollof will consist of a mixture of tomato paste, pepper chicken paste, and jollof paste.
