The Embassy of Ireland in Nigeria has disclosed that applications for the 2026 Ireland Fellows Programme will officially commence on June 29, offering qualified Nigerians the chance to study for a fully funded Master's degree in Ireland.
The announcement was made through a post published on the embassy's official social media platforms on Friday. According to the embassy, the fellowship is designed for early and mid-career professionals from Nigeria and Ghana who wish to pursue a one-year Master's degree at leading universities across Ireland.
Based on the eligibility requirements released by the embassy, applicants must be citizens and residents of either Nigeria or Ghana. They are also expected to possess at least a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of Second Class Lower and have no fewer than three years of relevant professional work experience.
The embassy further explained that Nigerian applicants will have access to the Roger Casement Fellowship in Human Rights, a special category of the programme that supports Master's studies in Law, Human Rights and Governance.
Successful candidates will receive comprehensive financial support under the fellowship. The package includes full tuition, a monthly living allowance, accommodation support, airfare, visa expenses and health insurance throughout the duration of the programme.
Applications open on June 29, 2026, and close on July 26, 2026. Interested applicants are advised to submit their applications through the Ireland Fellows Programme website at https://irelandfellows.africa/
